Hike 1: Zermatt – Tuftern – Sunnegga – Findeln – Zermatt:

From Zermatt the way leads through meadows and forests to Tufternalp where the tree line is. A flat path continues along pine and larch trees to Sunnegga. 2¼ hours. At Sunnegga the Matterhorn can be seen from its prettiest side. Passing Leisee, where marmots can be very often seen down to Findeln. Findeln is a small hamlet with over 100 year old chalets and stables. In Findeln are also 5 gourmet huts. The descent leads through meadows and trees to Winkelmatten and then to Zermatt.
Walking time approx. 3¼ hours, ascent 670 metres, 2198 ft, descent 670 metres, 2198 ft, distance 8.5 km, 5.3 miles, fee CHF 520.00.

Hike 2: Schwarzsee – Stafelalp – Zmutt – Edelweiss – Zermatt:

With gondolas up to Schwarzsee, 15 minutes. The way leads down along Schwarzsee to Stafelalp, 45 minutes. On the descent to Stafelalp the Matterhorn will be passed from the east to the north side and the famous north face can be seen very well. On a gravel road towards Zmutt. Before Zmutt a bridge has to be crossed which gives an impressive view down, 45 minutes. In Zmutt the way turns right and the climb to the restaurant Edelweiss starts 1¼ hours. The restaurant Edelweiss sits exposed on a rock face witha fantastic view over Zermatt. With a 30 minute descent back to Zermatt.
Walking time approx. 3¼ hours, ascent 130 metres, 426 ft. descent 680 metres, 2230 ft. distance 8.4 km, 5.2 miles, fee CHF520.00.

Hike 3: Blauherd – Fluhalp – Gant – Gruensee – Zermatt:

With the Sunnegga-express in ca. 5 minutes up to Sunnegga. At Sunnegga the Matterhorn can be seen from its prettiest side. Continuing with gondolas up to Blauherd, 10 minutes. From there along the picturesque Stellisee, where the Mattehorn is very often reflected to Fluhalp. Over moraines passing Grindjisee down to Gant, 45 minutes. A short ascent leads up to Gruensee which invites you for a swim. From there the way continues quite flat in 45 minutes to Riffelalp where the highest tram in Europe is. The descent to Zermatt leads along pine and larch trees, 1¼ hours.
Walking time approx. 3½ hours, ascent 270 metres, 886 ft, descent 1050 metres, 3444 ft, distance 11 km, 6.8 miles, fee CHF. 520.00.

The fee is for the mountain guide or hiking guide, doesn’t include any further services and is good for 1 or 2 people, for every additional person a fee of CHF 40.00 per person will be charged.
