Ice Climbing-Mountain Guide-Climbing Guide Zermatt

Ice climbing with a Climbing Guide – Mountain Guide Zermatt is the cool sport for all who like to face a challenge

In winter the water which flows over the rock faces is frozen. The frozen water crates the base for an impressive sport “Icefall Climbing”. The ice will be climbed with sharp tools (ice axe, crampons and ice screws) and the anchors are placed by the climber. The ice is not a dead matter; it reacts to the change of temperature. For that reason an icefall can be climbed several times per season and it will be always different.
