Zermatt offers ski tours for beginners to experts and from easy to the most demanding ones. There are a large number of unknown ski tours where the summit is not as important as the long ski descents. But there are also long and hard ski tours where only the summit counts. There is something for everyone. The following ski tours are a small selection of unusual ski tours. Every ski tour has got its own character. Haute Route.

The mountain guide / ski guide is available to pick you up from your hotel or chalet and drop you off again. We can also meet at the bottom of one of the cable cars. Whatever you prefer. For safety reasons you will be equipped with a beacon and if necessary with a harness. The mountain guide will bring the technical equipment for the tours. The personal equipment such as skins, skis etc. is not included but can be hired.

Schwarztor 3492 m, 11’460 ft. The classic Glacier Tour in Zermatt. For 1 or 2 people CHF 650.00 / Peak Season CHF 690.00, for every additional person a fee of CHF 50.00 per person will be charged. Maximum 6 people.

Requirements: No vertigo, safe skiing in unprepared terrain and good fitness. Walking time approx. 1½ hours, ascent 100m, 330 ft., descent 1860m, 6100 ft.

Stockhorn 3532m, 11’588 ft. The Stockhorn is a short but very rewarding ski tour. It includes a summit ascent (only if you want) in a high alpine landscape and a very long ski descent. For 1 or 2 people CHF 650.00 / Peak Season CHF 690.00, for every additional person a fee of CHF 50.00 per person will be charged. Maximum 6 people.

Requirements: No vertigo, safe skiing in unprepared terrain and good fitness. Walking time approx. 1½ hours, ascent 380m, 1247 ft., descent 1310m, 4298 ft.

Traversata 3492 m, 11’460 ft. The Traversata is a combination between skit touring and fixed rope trail in a very impressive high alpin enviroment. It leads from the top station Furgg to the old Furggen staion, towards the Matterhorn. The descent is down to Cervinia. For 1 or 2 people CHF 650.00 / Peak Season CHF 690.00, for every additional person a fee of CHF 50.00 per person will be charged. Maximum 6 people.

Requirements: No vertigo, ability to master easy climbing spots, safe skiing in unprepared terrain and good fitness. Walking time approx. 2½ – 3 hours, ascent 250m, 820 ft., descent 1440m, 4720ft.

Pfulwe 3155 m, 10’348 ft. This tour is for beginners and for gourmets. By cable-car to the Unterrothorn and on piste down to Fluhalp where the skins have to be put on. The ascent is moderately steep; only the final slope has to be climbed with a few kick turns. On Pfulwe we start the well deserved descent but not back to Zermatt, but the other direction toward to Taesch. With this change a longer descent can be achieved. For 1 or 2 people CHF 650.00 / Peak Season CHF 690.00, for every additional person a fee of CHF 50.00 per person will be charged. Maximum 6 people.

Requirements: Safe skiing in unprepared terrain and good fitness. Walking time approx. 2 hours, ascent 555m, 1820 ft., descent 1715m, 5625 ft.

Furggjoch 3271 m, 10’729 ft. This tour is a must for every spring snow lover. The slopes are facing south and are steep, which makes them to the perfect spring snow slopes. The descent ends in Italy. If you haven’t had enough, it’s possible to go back up and with a short ascent of about 15 minutes to do the bottom half again. This tour fascinates with its silence and proximity to the Matterhorn. For 1 or 2 people CHF 650.00 / Peak Season CHF 690.00, for every additional person a fee of CHF 50.00 per person will be charged. Maximum 6 people.

Requirements: Safe skiing, experience with crampons and good fitness. Walking time approx. 2 hours, ascent 510m, 1673 ft., descent 1265m / 1220m, 4000 ft.

Trjiftisattel 3250 m, 1’0660 ft. Glacier tour with a steep start. By cable-cars up to the Klein Matterhorn. From there a descent over the upper and lower Theodulgletscher. Then a traverse on the lower Theodulgletscher and ascent to the Tirjiftsattel. The descent is over a very steep slope down to the Breithorngletscher, which has to be traversed. The descent continues down to the Gornergletscher and ends in Furi. On this tour 4 glaciers and almost the whole Breithorn north face will be traversed, which gives the tour a very special atmosphere. For 1 or 2 people CHF 650.00 / Peak Season CHF 690.00, for every additional person a fee of CHF 50.00 per person will be charged. Maximum 4 people.

Requirements: Safe skiing in unprepared, steep terrain and good fitness. Walking time approx. 1½ hours, ascent 310m, 1017 ft., descent 1380m, 4526 ft.

Aebihorn 3472 m, 11’388 ft. A steep tour for the experienced climber. We take the Matterhornexpress up to Schwarzsee. From there we descend to Staffelalp and continue on flat terrain to the moraine which leads to the Schoenbiel hut. It continues steeply up to the Hohwaenggletscher. From there its an easy climb up to the summit. The descent leads over the Aebiluecke down the steep south side and further on to Staffelalp. For 1 or 2 people CHF 690.00 / Peak Season CHF 750.00, for every additional person a fee of CHF 50.00 per person will be charged. Maximum 6 people.

Requirements: Safe skiing in unprepared, steep terrain very good fitness. Walking time approx. 4½hours, ascent 1300m, 4264 ft., descent 1300m, 4364 ft.

International recognised Mountain Guide / Ski Guide for the tour. Cable cars and trains are not included.

Additional equipment for tours with glacier: Harness* – Sling 120 cm*.
Additional equipment for traversata: Harness* – Set for fixed rope routes*, Crampons with front points*.
