In summer many glaciers are free of snow. For that reason the crevasses are visible and they are not dangerous anymore because they are not hidden. In summer the surface of the glaciers is rough which gives a nice grip to your boots to walk effortlessly and without crampons over the glacier. Very often rock goats, marmots and jackdaws can be seen on the way to the glacier. Besides crevasses, a middle moraine, creeks, glacier mills, glacier lakes and glacier tables can be found.
