Glacier descents with a Ski Guide – Mountain Guide Zermatt is always something Special
Zermatt is surrounded by a large number of glaciers, which can be easily reached by cable cars. When the glaciers are covered with snow and the snow bridges are firm, than glacier-skiing is possible. Glacier-skiing is for the sporty skier a worthwhile alternative to heli-skiing. The mountain world around Zermatt is distinguished through its wilderness, size and beauty. Depending on the season and requests it is possible to choose between easier, longer or more difficult tours. Glacier-skiing with powder snow, crevasses and an impressive environment is always a worthwhile adventure and very special.
Requirements:
Glacier experience is not necessary and you don’t have to be a mountaineer for this unforgettable adventure. However you have to be a solid skier with some off piste experience. Besides the skiing skills you need to be able to walk ½ to 1½ hours with ski boots in one go.
Standard:
CHF 650.00 for 1 or 2 people, for every additional person a fee of CHF 40.00 per person will be charged.
Peak Season:
21st December 2025 – 3rd January 2026 / 8th February – 21st February 2026 / 29th March – 18th April 2026.
CHF 690.00 for 1 or 2 people, for every additional person a fee of CHF 50.00 per person will be charged.
Services:
The mountain guide / ski guide is available to pick you up from your hotel or chalet and drop you off again. The mountain guide / Ski guide also can meet you at the bottom of one of the cable cars. Whatever you prefer. Then we ride together up to the starting point. For safety reasons you will be equipped by your guide with an avalanche transceiver, probes, shovel, backpack and an harness. From the starting point we walk to the specific descents. From there the mountain guide or ski guide leads you along crevasses and ice towers over the glacier. If safety allows it you can ski the slopes first. On the tours you will find enough time for taking photos.
