Snowboarding is cool and I am too. How about a
snowboard instructor? I have a friend who shows me everything and takes me
with him. Powder boarding is just awesome; the snow sprays, the couloirs
flying past by and the crevasses can be easily
avoided. Is Snowboarding really that easy??? Unfortunately not!!!
It happens too often that your friend doesn't know the slopes exactly and doesn't
know either how much you can take. Once on the wrong slope it is only a fight
down and then you don't feel cool anymore. Your power is gone, your
wrists are aching, you are black and blue, the cold starts to take you, your friend
loses
his nerves and leaves you alone. Once down you have already got your first bad
habits which are hard to get rid of later on.
As soon you leave the slope you are not in a controlled terrain and nature
doesn't know that you are cool, with no experience in avalanche judgment and
you don't know the danger of glaciers. After you survived the day with more or less luck
you might start to think about the hidden danger of the off piste which you have
or haven't seen. NB: Not everyone is lucky.
With the help of a professional you avoid a lot of pain, bad habits and unpleasant
experiences. It is just more fun with a snowboard instructor, much safer and
progress is guaranteed.
